*updates*

{hey all! so it's been awhile since i have posted anything...so i thought i would give you an update on what is going on around here. b and i met with the contractor yesterday morning to discuss the details of the renovations. these of course are all exterior renovations as i mentioned in my previous post....no craft cottage for me just yet! although...one day i wouldn't mind something like this...

but like i said...in the future...BUT

i can't tell you how excited i am about the things that we are going to do now...

first off....we are painting the house...no more sunshine yellow. some people in our neighborhood have actually stopped and said that they call our house the "sunshine" house. this bothered me in some ways...yes it could be a really nice complement...or....it could be meant as an annoying yellow house. but i think it's more of the first one...so out with the sunshine and in with the sophistication.

second off....the shutters are coming off...no more aluminum louvered shutters! yeah!! in with the vinyl board and baton shutters...much more cottage looking wouldn't you say?

third....we are making the entrance to our house...more inviting...adding railing...trim around the door and a nice wooden column with molding....no pictures just yet...

fourth...a new roof...never thought i'd be so excited about shingles! never. but you have no idea how long we have been waiting to make this modification....our shingles right now are light grey...we are surrounded by trees...which means...our shingles are not always grey...they become green...mossy green. some would say that adds to the cottage look....to me...it only spells g.r.o.s.s.

last but the most exciting part of the whole renovation...the new deck. it will be 15d x 18w wide...12' of it will be a pergola....i'm so envisioning hanging baskets...a nice sofa with two chairs...white flowing panels for privacy and some small decorative lights....ah...

besides the home upgrades...believe it or not...i have been crafting! i know i know...it's been a long time since i have showcased anything but i have been holding off showing anything new. i have been waiting to hear back on a craft show that i applied to...we should hear in the next couple days or so. once i have heard...let the craft show begin!
