{b and i have a small collection of books so far for the baby...most of them are antiques...one of them is called "the meanest squirrel i've ever met". it was picked up last year..at our favorite antique store....}

{we received a set of three vintage books from b's mom a couple years ago...they don't have a whole lot of illustrations but i loved the vintage feel of the front covers...oh and one of the books is named what i think we will be matched with...it's a hunch i have and of course i could be wrong but it's a strong hunch...we will see...}

I love the old and rare books. The look, the smell, the old vintage graphics and type. There is a lot of love surrounding those old books. Wish I had more of them to share with my little ones. These are just lovely!
i too love the covers of old hardback children's books ... sort of like oils on canvas or something. so smooth but with texture!
funny... i have a bunch of beatrix potter books from when i was little. a few weeks ago i read 'tale of squirrel nutkin' to libby as she was falling asleep. it'd been awhile since i'd read it. had no idea how many animal sacrifices are in that book. i mean - i know animals eat other animals. but ... i just wasn't prepared. i was hoping libby would quickly fall asleep so i could just stop. too gory. :) ha ha
p.s. i think you'll have a little duke, too! :) and with all those girls in your family he really would be PRINCELY!
