idea i had for the baby's room....there is a long wall in the room (i'll have to take pictures of the walls after the living room is completed) that i was thinking of adding a bigger piece of furniture on it for storage..but now...i'm really thinking that i'd like to have a long bench. something tall enough to fit baskets under yet short enough for little one to put his or her stuffed animals on...maybe something with a cushion?}

What great ideas! Many blessings as you continue the adoption process.
similar idea to these ... my FAVORITE look/idea that i've ever seen came from a magazine or catalog years ago. i always wanted to do it in B&D's room, but haven't. [it's just filed away in my rolodex-of-a-brain] anyway, it was basically trim that went all across a wall & on that trim was hooks or pegs. which are great for jackets, but also for tying jute or string then using clothespins to hang artwork, cards, photos, etc. then on top of the trim is a small ledge like 3 or 4 inches deep. enough for just lining up some trucks, cars, leaning books against the wall, some photo frames, etc. this was the whole length of the wall. not sure of the height but if needed it can be taller than a dresser so you don't have to give up the wall entirely. :) dana, if i can find the scrap of magazine that i tore out i will show you! :)
ha - just read of my lengthy comment. i know i've already mentioned it to you, but can you tell i totally think little C will be a BOY? [lining up trucks & cars] ha ha i've gone from it just being an inkling to a straight up assumption.
thank you Lindsay! i totally know what you are talking about rachel..i have a picture very similar to what you are describing...love it!! oh and i am like 98% sure that it's going to be a boy...lol...a hunch of course. my sisters keep telling me it's going to be a girl. we'll see...but my mind is totally geared up for a little boy! ;)
all of these photos are fantastic! Love that turquoise shelf and red chair in the last one....:)
