*ripe and ready*

{i love having fruit trees in our backyard...this weekend we noticed some nice sized plums
hanging from the tree..}

{so we picked some...i know they aren't all ripe yet...but if we don't pick them like this..then the squirrels get them before us....and they make a mess!}

{we also have some figs growing...i've never learned how to make a fig jam...or really how to work with figs...but i so love the taste of them. i might have to research a little before they are ready to be eaten..got any tips? we've got to pick these as soon as we see they are ready...again...our backyard friends have these trees on a timer.}

We should try and make our own fig preserves this year, we can ask eric h. about how they make it!

Yummy figs! My friend/old co-worker has a fig tree in her yard. I always looked forward to her bringing a big 'ole bag of them in for me. How lucky to have both trees in your yard! :)

It's cool that you have fruit trees in your yard! I could give you some tips, but I know nothing about figs.

ooooo i'd maybe look into a recipe for a homemade fig newton! not sure if that would require a fig jam anyway ... but YUM. that purple plum is so pretty! NAUGHTY lil' squirrels ... ours are super naughty, too!
