*diy birthday cakes*

{as much as i marvel over the talent of professional cake bakers..i love to see people creating their own master pieces at home. gives me hope that maybe one day i'll be able to make my little one's birthday cake. }

d, we could totally make a cool cake one day....the cake with the candles burning has a flag banner similar to your shirts!

I'm totally in awe of these cakes. I'm trying to "up" my skills here and failing miserably. (You haven't seen any recent baking photos on my blog - right?! Now you know why.) This is totally inspiring me to try again.

PS - I've been doing cupcakes. A friend of mine who actually bakes for a living told me to start with fun cupcakes... it's less overwhelming and time consuming, and you only have to decorate as many as you want. I found that is totally true.

Love it Love it Love it!!! how i wish we lived closer so we could take those cake decorating classes together!

I'm having a cake-pop week/weekend over here. making some for my sis-in-law's pre-wedding party here on sat. nite and then some for elizabeth's bake sale for her cat rescue. (yep, attempting cat cake-pops and praying they don't look like crap when i'm done. wish me luck! :)
